About Draughts Online

Draughts Online exists to do one thing properly: give you a good game of English draughts in your browser, free, with nothing standing between you and the board.

Who we are

We are a small independent team of board-game enthusiasts who also run Checkers Online, the larger sister site covering the whole draughts family. Part of the Checkers Online family of sites, this one is dedicated to the British game: the name, the spelling and the 8×8 rules as played in the UK, Ireland and the Commonwealth.

What you will find here

• A free draughts game against the computer at three difficulty levels, or for two players sharing a device. It works offline and can be installed as an app.
• The rules of draughts, written to match the game engine exactly, draw laws and all.
• A pronunciation guide for the most mispronounced word in board gaming.

There are no accounts, no adverts and no charge. If you want to play against real people rather than the computer, Checkers Online handles online multiplayer.
